On the outskirts of Hunsel, nestled among ancient hedgerows and rolling meadows, lives the Brouns family—the proud founders of Shepherd Hutten Hunsel.

What began as a dream to breathe new life into their farmyard and orchard has grown into a unique place where nature, tranquility, and hospitality come together.

Jan and Har Brouns, both with backgrounds in construction, combine their craftsmanship and love for wood with a deep respect for the landscape where they grew up. With care and an eye for detail, they built the authentic shepherd huts themselves—cozy wooden huts on wheels, inspired by the English tradition of shepherd’s huts.

Each hut is a tribute to simplicity, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Surrounding the huts lies their pride and joy: a walnut orchard where biodiversity and tranquility take center stage. Here, walnuts and chestnuts ripen, birds sing in the hedges, and guests stroll along winding paths filled with scent and color.
