On the way to Santiago de Compostella?

Find peace and reflection in Hunsel

Special welcome to all pilgrims

On the edge of the Limburg village of Hunsel, amidst green meadows, ancient oaks, and the whispering of the Leubeek stream, runs an ancient route that has led pilgrims to the distant city of Santiago de Compostela since the Middle Ages. This pilgrimage route, part of the European Camino network, connects the silence of the Limburg landscape with the rhythm of ancient footsteps—of people searching for meaning, peace, or simply a new perspective.

Anyone walking the Camino Limburgensis today will be following in the same footsteps as monks, merchants, and travelers of old. The route winds through rolling fields, past chapels, crosses, and village centers where hospitality is still palpable.

In this setting of nature and tranquility lies Shepherd Hutten Hunsel – a unique place to take a break, breathe deeply and enjoy simplicity with comfort.

Our shepherd huts are charming, handmade gypsy wagons nestled on the edge of a walnut orchard and food forest. Here, you can hear the rustling of leaves, the birdsong, and the crunch of wood as evening falls.

Each hut is furnished for two people and equipped with everything a pilgrim or hiker needs: a comfortable bed, water, a small kitchen and a terrace with a view over the greenery.
